American Gladiators

NBC has brought back American Gladiators. If you haven't been keeping up with it, I'm sorry. It is some of the best prime time television I have seen in forever. The gladiators are ridiculous, Hulk is an out of control host, and it has an element of 'is this staged?' to it.

They have really found a way to get those of us who grew up on GUTS to get excited about TV again.

I'm not sure sure if I am enjoying this show in the way it was 'meant to be enjoyed,' but I really feel the need to buy a Toyota Tacoma after watching, so they must be doing something right.

I'm not really interested in the compeition of the show as much as the gladiators themselves (read: Wolf and Titan). I would definitely love to see a 30 minute sitcom before the actual show about the week leading up to it. It would be like The Real World meets Friends meets True Life: I'm an American Gladiator.

If you watched Monday night's episode, you would have met the contestant Jeff "Big Country" Chapman who compared the earthquake event to pig wrestling at the fair. When you heard his nickname, did you automatically think of the band Big Country (You know the one where the lead singer killed himself a few years ago)?
